THE NEXT MORNING, I wake to an empty bed. At first, I think Phoenix left me at some point during the night. But then the smell of bacon hits my nose, making me smile.

He not only stayed, but he made breakfast too.

Throwing the blankets off me, I slip on my fuzzy slippers and Holden’s hoodie before heading out to the kitchen.

Phoenix is standing there in his jeans and white top. I wonder if he slept in them all night. I don’t think he took them off before he got into bed with me last night.

Holy crap, I slept with Phoenix. Not in that way, but actually slept in the same bed as him. I feel like I’m in an episode of The Twilight Zone.

“Morning,” his husky smooth voice greets me when he notices I’ve entered the room. Only he doesn’t look at me, more like senses me there.

“Morning,” I murmur back, trying really hard not to perfume like crazy at the sound of his voice.

I’m not a person who typically gets horny at the drop of a hat, but that seems to be how these Alphas make me feel. All of them, Phoenix included. Or maybe it’s more intense with him because my body knows he’s meant to be mine yet he still hasn’t done anything about it.

I won’t push him, and I won’t make anyone be with me who doesn’t want to be. He can come to me when or if he’s ready.

He places a plate of bacon and eggs down in front of me. It smells amazing, and I can’t help but moan. “This looks so good. I’m starving.”

“Eat.” He nods towards the food.

And I do. I devour that plate of food and ask for another. He gives me more without a second thought.

By the time I’m done eating, the buzzer to my apartment goes off. “That would be my brothers,” Phoenix sighs, casting me a look.

“They’re back?” I ask, eyes wide as hope and excitement course through my limbs.

He nods and heads over to the box, presses the button, and asks who it is to confirm.

When Benji’s voice makes its way to me, I can’t help the whimper that slips free.

Phoenix’s eyes snap over to mine as he lets the guys in.

I’m on my feet, pacing back and forth as I wait. Phoenix stands back, watching, with a pissed off look on his face. I want to ask him what’s wrong, but the door to my apartment opens and in comes my three Alphas.

“Maya,” Benji breathes out my name, which has me running towards him, launching myself into his arms. He holds me tightly, his gingerbread scent hugging me like a blanket.

“How are you?” Holden asks, appearing at my back.

“Are you hurt? Did you call the cops?” Grant asks, stepping up to my side.

“Stop hogging her,” Holden grumbles to his brother.

“Fuck you,” Benji snaps, nuzzling his face into my hair. He inhales deeply, hugging me tighter.

“We’re so sorry we weren’t there last night,” Grant apologizes, rubbing the back of my head with his large hand.
